Matthew Ward, ESQ

Matt founded The Ward Firm in July 2013, bringing with him extensive experience across multiple practice areas, with a strong focus on landlord/tenant representation. Prior to establishing the firm, Matt practiced law in Brewerton, New York, concentrating on civil litigation within the construction industry. His professional background also includes serving as counsel for a local municipality, contributing to the New York State Bar Association, and holding positions on several community boards.

Matt’s connection to the construction world began early, working alongside his grandfather at the family’s steel company. This foundational experience later informed his legal work representing commercial contractors throughout Central New York—a core focus of the firm until 2019.

While handling a limited number of eviction cases for business-owning clients, Matt recognized a growing need in the landlord community. When the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily halted most eviction proceedings, he developed creative legal strategies to support his clients. As word of his effectiveness spread, The Ward Firm evolved into a dedicated landlord representation practice.

Today, the firm specializes exclusively in guiding landlords through the eviction process with clarity, competence, and dedication.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys live performances, traveling, and cheering on his beloved Buffalo Bills.
